A Gardening Analogy

Here’s a quick video presenting an analogy that struck me yesterday morning. When performing a technique, imagine uke’s arm as a garden hose, and be careful to move only in ways that allow water to continue flowing. If you move too sharply or in a one-sided way (in a way that might pinch a garden hose) you risk disconnecting and giving control back to uke. Here’s the video:
