Insight from Maine Fiddle Camp

by on September 10, 2012

It’s been a while since I posted anything, but don’t worry, there’s more on the way!

The DVDs from Nationals arrived last week and I’ve been slowly ripping the footage off the DVDs as time permits. Sometime soon I hope to put up a post about some of my favorite moments from the tournament. I am a big believer in softness and subtlety, but I believe that competition, when approached correctly, has tremendous value as well. I’ll probably say a little more in the next post. (I also have a number of criticisms of the current state of competitive aikido, and I hope to post more on that subject at some point, but that will require a lot more time.)

For now I’ve got an unusual one for you: a bit of insight from Maine Fiddle Camp, for whom I am making a video. Enjoy…

We have practice tonight and I’ll be bringing my camera. There are a couple more ideas from Galway and the MovNat workshop that I want to talk about, and Eric has been playing with a new drill for a few months now, and I want to see if I can get him to talk about it on camera.
